On the unspoilt Cilento coastline in Southern Italy rests Palazzo Belmonte, a fabulous private residence with a unique location, views to the Bay of Naples and its own private Beach. Right on.
The Palazzo was built in the 17th century as a hunting lodge for the family of the Principe di Belmonte, and the 13th Prince of Belmonte - who still lives (quite unobtrusively) in two of the wings of the Palazzo - has converted part of this ancient residence into spacious and charmingly individual apartments that retain the historic feel.

Edoardo's House, which adjoins the Palazzo, was converted earlier this year from the overseer's home into six gorgeous new suites, most with sweeping sea views and some with terraces. Crisp white tones, antique-style ceramic floors, sumptuous fabrics and beautiful antique pieces have been carefully chosen to adorn the interiors and compliment the original Palazzo's features. The delicate restoration programme has been the culmination of a dream to bring this grand historical property into the 21st Century.

Guests are absolutely encouraged to make the Palazzo their home, and can relax in the garden, lay out on the beach, or explore the quant village of Santa Maria which snuggles up against the walls of the Palazzo. This charming town buzzes with life with its excellent variety of shops, small restaurants, cafes and a weekly market. In the evenings, guests can immerse themselves in local village life and enjoy a pre-dinner drink in the harbour whilst watching the passsiagata along the promenade.

And it's reasonable - prices start at €195 (in low season) for a double room with terrace (based on two people sharing), and include an American breakfast buffet.
