May is a perfect time to visit the south of France and the Monaco Grand Prix is the perfect occasion. And with British driver, Lewis Hamilton, in his second season, surely going is a patriotic duty.
The Monaco Grand Prix is one of the most glamorous sporting events of the year and one of the most challenging, as it's the only street circuit in the Formula One calendar. F1 cars racing through the Racasse, with the Monte Carlo harbour as a backdrop, is a truly spectacular sight (and sound).
The official 78-lap race takes place on the 25th of May, but there are practice sessions the three days before.
Getting hotels for the Grand Prix is tricky, but if you're lucky, you'll be ensconced in the luxury of the Hotel Hermitage, a member of the Leading Hotels of the World. Guests can relax on the terrace overlooking the sea and then enjoy an excellent meal in Le Vistamar restaurant. Afterwards, head for the popular disco at Jimmy'z.
The Belle Époque Palace faces the Mediterranean, and you can be there in no time with transfer from Nice by helicopter.
Should you need a bit of the other thing for which Monaco is famous, your stay includes complimentary admission to The Casino de Monte-Carlo.
So considerate.
