This is it, the last of the season's articles on the most fabulous places to lay your head post piste. And this is about the time you need to book that trip too, if you haven't already. Before you know it, there will be grass on them there hills...
The Clubhouse
You already know we love Milk & Honey. And since one should never be far from a really good drink, their Chamonix outpost is our first recommendation for the last hurrah.
The seven-room boutique hotel takes bookings for three (Sun-Wed), four (Wed-Sun) or seven (Sun-Sun or Wed-Wed) nights, and you don't have to be a member to stay. It just makes staying nicer (and less expensive).
Not surprisingly, The Clubhouse has defined its own attitude, food and ambiance, so expect sophisticated dining, s.x toys in the mini bar, and yes, three bunker-style rooms, but ones with Frette linens, power showers and flat-screen TVs. The only thing missing is a jacuzzi and sauna, but the treatment available make up for it.
Nevai
Over yonder in Verbier is Nevai (Swiss French for 'snow', natch), which opened at the end of last year. It's a sleek, modern oasis of decent size (33 rooms and two penthouses), which has set out to be hip, luxurious and elegant all at once.
And given its pedigree (the business that owns it is also responsible for King's Bar, King's Parc Hotel and Farm Club - which happens to be next door), it will probably succeed.
The hotel takes advantage of the beautiful views at every turn, and our favourite part is that the Spa opens to a terrace where you can lounge in warm blankets and order from the bar.
So, ski you there?
