Ms Robinson graces our pages with advice and reviews. But as a professional writer she also graces real pages in a more ghostly form, and brings her first novel, Toxic People, 'a not-so-moral take on hedge funders and hubris' - to an Internet connection near you.
Ms R has ghost-written books for Noel Edmonds, Jacqueline Gold, John Bird, Colin Fry and the ex-stripper you read about here.
Her novel, Toxic People, has been researched with the kind help of a London hedgie (and many lunches) and is based on the actual timeline of events from 2005 onwards. “It’s part financial thriller and part bonkbuster,” she says. “Lots of money and lots of sex.”
We're not entirely sure what a bonkbuster is, but we sure like the sound of it.
She's releasing Toxic People on the Internet, where subscribers will be sent each chapter by email. To give them a taste of the book, she's published the prologue online and will provide updates as chapters are produced.
You can read it here: http://toxicpeoplenovel.wordpress.com.
For those who sign up now, the entire novel is only $3.50 with the price increasing as more chapters are written up to a very reasonable $9.
As for why she's taking this route, Ms Robinson says, "This is an experiment but the alternative is to keep going backwards and forwards with my agent at WMA trying to second-guess publishers who are pretty decimated this year. But so far the response has been amazing with lots of interest from readers all over the world.”
The first chapter is due to be sent out this week.
