This weekend, celebrate the best of British (Wimbledon) and the best of America (July 4th). And if really inspired, wash it down with some powdered wine...
Eat
This weekend is your last chance to catch the spirit of Wimbledon in the West End. A tennis court has been constructed on Swallow Street so Gaucho Grill and Bentley's Oyster Bar diners can sit outside and watch the matches. And, best of all, get drinks from "Ball Girls". Special menus will be on offer with all of the mainstays you'd expect.
Celebrate
Tomorrow is July 4th, and you don't have to be American to celebrate America's Independence from Britain. (Who isn't happy about this?) Time Out has a list of events happening around town, including a huge picnic in Battersea Park, a chili cook-off at All Star Lanes, and themed-club nights galore.
Drink
Oenophiles, listen up. You can now enjoy a robust red on that two-week camping trip in the mountains. (OK, so most oenophiles we know don't camp, and probably wouldn't be caught dead drinking this.) But should the need arise, Trek 'n Eat now makes powdered wine, which you can mix up on the trail. Perhaps safer is the mulled wine variety, designed for snowy adventures.
Book
It's not too late to buy tickets to the Holland Park Opera, taking place now through the end of August. The calendar lists all performances, and you can still get ones for La Boheme on the weekend, as well as Verdi's Un ballo in maschera and Angelina Ballerina (for younger culture vultures). Of course, you can also just go to the park and enjoy the music in the background.
Win
Did you catch the SheerLuxe.com competition to win a gorgeous Matthew Williamson clutch and an outfit valued at £1500? Read more about it here, or go right here to enter.
