A new Canary Wharf restaurant, a new Notting Hill shop, a new way to experience cinema. (And a good old-fashioned fete and some old-time art for good balance.)
Drink
Attention Canary Wharf diners (and drinkers): Bored with 1812, Cafe Rouge and Corney & Barrow? Thought so. Try Lower East Liquor Bar & Bistro, an independent (how refreshing!) restaurant now open where Jamie's once stood riverside on Westferry Circus. The American menu is not cheap but reports are that it's very good. For weekend visitors, brunch is served. Now that is American.
Watch
Has your cinema lost its drama? Subscribe to the Secret Cinema, where films are shown monthly in a variety of secret locations. This Sunday's is in London Fields, and as always, the film remains a secret until the credits roll. If this is more than you can handle, just check out their cool, ghoulish website.
Shop
It takes a lot of faith to open your home to the Portobello Road masses, but that's what Supermarket Sarah is doing. She's expanded from her stall on the market road, and sells things from her living room as well as online. Another cool website to check out, whether you want to pay her a visit for vintage craziness, tea and cakes or not.
Fete
Need one more fete before the summer ends? Sunday is the Primrose Hill End-of-Summer Fete on Regent's Park Road. The usual assortment of stalls, crafts, food and kid's stuff will take place - all stamped with the quaintness of PH, no doubt.
Visit
This is the last weekend to see Snozzcumbers and Frobscottle, also known as an exhibit celebrating the work of Quentin Blake and Roald Dahl. The Museum of Childhood has original manuscripts and illustrations and interactive exhibits for those young and old.
