- The Weekend: Happy Halloween! (30/10/2008)
Today is Halloween! What, you have no plans to celebrate? Don't be ghoul. Let us help you find a way to mark the day, lest you be marked as anything less than fun.
Take a Walk
Halloween Sinister London Tour
Farringdon Tube - 7pm - £6
Graveyards, executions, prisons...
Visit a Haunted House
50 Berkeley Square is London's most famous haunted house. It's currently occupied by Maggs Brothers Antiquarian Booksellers, so at least the ghosts can read books from their time. Read more about it here, and walk by if you dare!
Laugh it Up
The Royal Vauxhall Tavern hosts the Three Wicked Witches serving up gags and treats by candlelight. If you're in fancy dress, you get in free.
Visit an Old Friend
Cineworlds all over London - and in West India Quay and on Shaftesbury Avenue - will be showing the classic Dracula tonight. Find showtimes here.
Read a Book
Light a candle and pick up modern classic Interview With a Vampire, by Anne Rice. But watch out, the 1976 novel is addictive, and you might find yourself compelled to read the nine following books (all equally silly and delicious).
Give a Treat
And if nothing else, visit Marks & Sparks or Paul and pick up a Halloween treat for you and your fiends.
