In our T5 preview, we spoke of cold, hard facts. Now we've got a few more.
In the first week:
  • 28,000 bags have been put in temporary storage, and will take up to a week to make it back to their owners
  • Almost 400 flights have been cancelled since the terminal opened last Thursday
  • Goldman Sachs has downgraded BA from 'Buy' to 'Sell'
  • The estimated cost to British Airways at this stage is £20m, although penalties to the airline could be applied of up to £5K per traveller
  • Stranded travellers were given £100 in vouchers for hotels, although the closest hotels had jacked up their rates to £250 per night
  • If you're booked in or out of T5 through 2 April, BA will allow you to change your ticket at no cost

And from our readers:

"I couldn't find the Tube station. I followed the signs and there was no Tube, so I backtracked, checked again, and still couldn't find it. I ended up taking the Heathrow Express."

"I was four hours late to work this morning because I landed at Terminal 5. It's a fantastic building that doesn't so much work as an airport."

"The lounge was nice, which was good since I had to spend almost five hours in it."

"I was on an elevator that was promptly closed because it was unloading people into a security queue that could go no further."

Alas! Seems there's no need to answer the question: 'Hit or Miss?'
