In this edition, we've got good food for cheap, good wine for even less, a cool accessory for not very much, and an exercise classes for free. And something expensive that you can have for nothing. Right on.
Eat
Excessive spending is so out these days. So let's be reminded of five of London's best buys (again, by our favourite food source, Zagat's) and not break the bank. Food For Thought for vegetarian (Covent Garden), The Churchill Arms for Thai (High Street Kensington), Books For Cooks for a no-choice, amazing daily offering (Notting Hill), Leon for fastish food (various locations) and New Tayyabs for Pakistani (Whitechapel). You can read the full feature here.
Drink
Not like you need a good reason to down wine at Vinopolis, but here's one anyway: Square Meal's Annual Around the World Tasting. For £40 you get to taste 'up to 250 wines'. Which is, like, 16p per taste. Although we don't recommend doing that on a Wednesday evening (the 19th of Nov), in only 3.5 hours (6-9:30pm). Stick to 40 and you'll be happier.
Exercise
Our favourite massage entrepreneur, James, has opened a Reformer Pilates Centre called Pilates K at The Klinik (home of those great pregnancy and regular massages) on Devonshire Row. And they're offering a free first class to HITC readers. Anything having to do with the word 'reformer' normally scares us, but apparently Pilates helps with tone, posture, strength and weight loss. Huh. Maybe we should sign up.
Buy
Our latest favourite cloth shopping bags come with one big old letter. Like M for me, Y for You and H for Here Is The City. At £10 they're not the cheapest on the market, but they're heavy duty, so will last longer than the six £3 bags you have. But you can still wash them, so perfect for when that gallon of chocolate milk spills on your way home from Waitrose.
Win
Maybe everyone is working instead of entering competitions. But this is one you don't want to miss - a Pretty Party at Cowshed Carnaby. You and nine friends. Champagne, canapes, manicures and pedicures. Most parties don't leave you more fabulous than when you started (unfortunately). So get to it, gals!
