Is it the economic climate that's making Christmas a little less anticipated this year? Don't let it ruin your fun. Make yourself a Cinnamon Bellini and start drawing up your (more reasonably priced) shopping list.
EAT (AND DO)
If you're not getting a blue box this year (for your significant other, for yourself, whatever), make yourself feel better by treating yourself at Tiffany & Co.'s Tuck Shop. The Somerset House set-up is selling seasonal delights as well as cupcakes from Notting Hill's Hummingbird Bakery.
DRINK
We're writing a full review of Devonshire Square's new restaurant for next week, but in the meantime, you've GOT to try this. It's the Cinnamon Bellini from the Cinnamon Kitchen, and it's out of this world. Ingredients include Champagne, Goldschläger, cinnamon tea and a small piece of a cinnamon stick. Do try this one at home.
SHOP
Save money and skip your annual shopping trip to the Nuremberg Christmas Market. Instead, go to the Southbank Centre, which is hosting a Christmas Market with 40 stalls (and the requisite accompaniments of mulled wine, holiday food and Christmas music). It's open every day from 10-10, through Tuesday the 23rd of Dec.
SEE
Take a break from Oxford Street's Christmas insanity and walk south to the National Portrait Gallery. Until the 1st of February you can see a different side of photographer Annie Leibovitz - A Photographer's Life.
BUY
This funny site sells hilarious, useless things for guys. iPod alarm clocks, USB microphones, Ray Gun channel changer. Although given your recipient's current bonus, maybe a replacement set of socks, or an annual tube pass, would be smarter.
