Merrill Lynch staff placed first and third in this year's Here Is The City Line Manager of the Year poll. And, to celebrate, an award ceremony took place at the firm's London offices a couple of weeks back.

Andrew Stankovits, VP, Leadership and Talent Management (LTM), beat out a competitive field to top the poll and received his trophy from Here Is The City CEO Ian Brown.

The award ceremony was uplinked live to Merrill in the US, where Stankovits started his career with the firm. Now based in London, Stankovits flew in for the event from Moscow, however, where he was involved in a recruitment initiative driven by Merrill's expansion in Russia.

'I constantly involve my employees in decision making, especially when it comes to day-to-day issues that directly impact them,' Stankovits said. 'It's important to convey from the top down how as a team, and individually, we contribute to the overall success of the firm'.

Laurent Nordmann, Director, GMI Services, came in third in the poll. Kate Richards, First VP, LTM, said, 'This is a really good win for both individuals and for the firm. Merrill Lynch is recognised in the industry for the value it places on our management style'.

Stankovits and Nordmann were joined by their respective line managers, Helen Favillier and Dean Soteropoulos. Many of their own direct reports were also present.
