Several thousand votes and a comprehensive judging process later, the overall winner of Badenoch & Clark's 2009 Rising Stars Award has been revealed as Inga Lidaka.
The Awards, now in their second year, look to identify the most promising talent in the banking and financial services industry. This year's winner was recognised with a cheque for £1,000, as well as walking off with the title of the Badenoch & Clark's 'Rising Star' 2009.
At a time when the industry is experiencing the full effects of a recession, recognising and showcasing the hard work and successes achieved by these individuals is perhaps more important than ever. Guy Emmerson, associate director of the banking and financial services recruitment division at Badenoch & Clark, comments: 'These awards are dedicated to rising stars within Operations - a function that is in the limelight less often, but no less vital or rewarding. The scheme is all about celebrating excellence in financial markets, acknowledging the hard work on the road to the top, and rewarding that talent'.
He adds: 'The quality of entries this year was exceptionally high, with even fiercer competition than 2008. The final decision was an incredibly close call, but Inga is clearly held in high regard by clients and colleagues alike. Her skill at building relationships has earned her a great deal of trust, and she willingly passes her experience onto other colleagues, sharing best practice. We congratulate Inga wholeheartedly on becoming Badenoch & Clark's Rising Star 2009'.
Inga said: 'I have had great support in my current role from my management team, and this award is testament to that. To be recognized by your colleagues for the work you do is hugely rewarding, but to win an industrywide award is truly thrilling'.
