The Daily Star reports that a cat owned by Pete Doherty was found to have traces of cocaine in its blood stream. It seems that Pete himself took a sick young kitten to the vet, only for the problem to be uncovered.
The matter is thought to have been reported to the police.
Reuters reports that police removed 12 'distressed' pit bulls from the Phoenix home of rapper-actor DMX last week, after obtaining a search for animal neglect.
And Britney Speers is said to be under investigation by The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals after her dog was recently seen out wearing a cast. (Sticking with Britney, those in the know say that there is no truth to the rumour that the singer is to relaunch her singing career with a duet with former boyfriend Justin Timberlake. Now ain't that a thing!)
MSNBC.com reports that thieves stole a $13,000 handbag and various other goodies from a New York penthouse suite being used by Spider Man female lead Kirsten Dunst last week. Ms Dunst was in town to shoot scenes for her upcoming movie How To Lose Friends And Alienate People. A suspect is in custody (apparently caught by a flying man wearing a funny suit).
Associated Press reports that 'Baywatch' legend David Hasselhoff accepted undisclosed damages last week from the publishers of OK! magazine and the US edition of OK! Weekly, which incorrectly accused him of being drunk and abusive in a Hollywood nightclub.
And that $10m defamation lawsuit brought by diamond heiress-actress Zeta Garff against Paris Hilton has also been settled. An 'amiable resolution' is said to have now been reached over the spat - Zeta alleged that Paris had spread 'vicious lies' about her to the media in 2005.
TMX.com reports that Mel Gibson has got the thumbs up from a Malibu judge after the actor completed four and a half months of AA meetings following his DUI conviction last summer. Mel's attendance at these meetings are now optional, although he will have to return to court next February. Gibson was given a three-year probation after being picked up last year, and is required to check into court every so often.
Yahoo.com reports that Bill Murray might have to face the music after cruising through the streets of downtown Stockholm on a golfcart, and refusing to take a breath test when stopped by bemused police officers. Murray was subjected to a blood test instead. The results are due in in 10 days or so.
Finally, another person has come forward and proved by DNA testing that she is the child of soul legend James Brown. Mr Sex Machine himself died last December aged 73. In dispute, of course, is Brown's Will. Three people have now come forward and positively proved that Brown is their birth father. Another nine were also tested.
