Every woman who has fashion at all on her radar would like a Chanel bag. We first wanted one at the age of 19, when all we could afford was a bottle of Coco (which we proceeded to wear every day, everywhere). And now SheerLuxe.com is going to give one away for free!
Along with it, they're giving way £1.5K to spend with Astley Clarke, Isabella Oliver 365, Lombok, SweatyBetty and The Handpicked Collection.

Admittedly we've aged a bit (and learned to select our fragrance based on the season and the occasion), but we'd still like a Chanel bag. And why shouldn't we carry one with pride? After all, Coco Chanel single-handedly created modern women's fashion.
She replaced the corseted look with a long, lean and far more comfortable dress style that became popular in the '20s and '30s, and introduced jersey as a fabric for outerwear (instead of just for undergarments). She came up with the iconic suit that first brought menswear to womenswear, but designed the jacket in a way that from a comfort perspective, it's more like wearing a sweater than a jacket. And in 1929 she created a handbag that finally freed women's hands by featuring straps.
The 2.55 handbag, known as the Classic, was introduced in February 1955, when Chanel made her post-war comeback. Karl Lagerfeld reissued it in the 2.55 in 2005, staying entirely true to the original. According to StyleFizz:

- The lining’s brown color represents the color of the uniforms from the convent where she grew up.
- There’s a zippered compartment at the inside of the front flap. That’s where Coco Chanel hid her love letters (from her lover at the time).
- There’s a back outside flap on the handbag, that’s where Ms Chanel stashed extra money.
- As I said before, Coco Chanel grew up in an convent, at the orphanage. The caretakers hold the keys at their waist dangling from the same type of chains as the 2.55 shoulder strap chains.
- The 2.55 front lock is different from the classic double CC logo. It’s logo is called “the Mademoiselle Lock” (because Ms Chanel was never married).
May a classic woman win it!

Madame A and Madame B live in penthouses down the hall from each other not far from The Square Mile. One works for an American bank, one is
just an American. Both require their identities to be secret for a
variety of reasons, but mostly because they'd like to stay out of hot
water with their partners and bank managers.
