Believe it or not, summer is on. Now, I love summer in the City as much as the next Global Warmer, but I've always preferred Autumn/Winter fashion when it comes to the sweaty Tube/air-conditioned office conundrum.
However, mid-season sales are upon us, so if you are worried about how much cash you have left after the last interest rate hike, here are my picks for good buys that will take you from summer to autumn.
Men's tailoring is back in a big way next season, and the contrasting themes of English Country Gent versus Chic City Mod dominate, with cleaner, more modern silhouettes, muted colours and plenty of texture.
Three piece suits make a confident return, and whilst grey is undoubtedly the colour of the season, pinstriped brown provides a retro alternative to black and blue. Rich berry colours dominate ties and accessories.
Burberry and Acquascutum have beautiful trench and pea coats to look out for, whilst Full Circle, John Richmond and Remus Uomo all have rebellious, military and leather jackets when more casual outerwear will do.
Again Full Circle should be your first stop for casual chunky cardigans and dark jeans, whereas Lacoste and Marco Polo bring a more grown-up vintage feel to collections rich in leather and heavy wool.
So next time you get dragged out to the sales citing lack of sunshine or football this summer, scour for a couple of these key pieces and you'll have us all wishing it was a winter wonderland already.

Charlotte is a recruitment manager at a rather large, rather global bank. She made the switch to banking after several years of recruiting for the fashion industry. Charlotte is now using her fashion contacts to look beyond the corporate dress code and ask, "Can you ever look Sexy in The City?" We're very much hoping the answer is YES.
