Zenggi is an online fashion house that stocks luxurious basics for women. This season, the look is inspired by 'city comfort'. Banker-shopaholic Madame A asks Zenggi creator Marian Wigger a few questions.
Who or what was the inspiration behind your 'city comfort' theme?
Real women - strong and a highly individual, with a casual glamour, good sense of humour and a relaxed attitude to fashion. Think Lauren Hutton, Babe Paley, Diana Vreeland and Claire Cardell.
What is the worst fashion faux pas you've seen in the City?
Too much cleavage! And leggings.
What items are worth full price?
Shoes, a good dress (buy more of the same once you find the right one), cashmere cardigans and a perfect fitting trouser.
What is the 'must-have' accessory for a City professional?
A stylish bag for your laptop, with lots of compartments for phones, make up, keys, etc.
Who is your favourite style-icon?
Diana Vreeland - great style, great charm and very witty.
What is the one item of clothing you can't live without?
My cashmere cardigans.
What is the most obscure item in your handbag?
At the moment, I am afraid, it's my husbands wallet (?!?!). Next to that: measuring tape.
And for the women of the city:
Heels or Flats?
Both but always wear beautiful shoes. For the men: always well polished!
Formal or Casual?
A mix I would say. I don't like woman dressed up as men in pin stripe suits. Wear a dress!
Black or White?
Both. But mix it with some beige or grey otherwise you might be mistaken for a penguin.
Trousers or Skirt?
Again, both. Trousers should be really well fitting. Skirts on knee length unless you have marvellous knees or are under 25.
And for the men: Belt or Braces?
Neither!
