As wedding season is approaching, please allow us to drop in a few suggestions for making your day even greener. And no, we are not talking about the green of envy that will be on everyone's faces when they see how gorgeous you are...
Order of Service:
Ecologically Responsible Jewelry
Start with Cred for clean-lined engagement and wedding rings, sourced and made entirely ethically. Our only complaint with them is that the diamonds only go to 1.5 carats.
Fifi Bijoux is a bit more Earth Mother, but still very elegant and certainly unique.
Recycled Stationary
Vinati's Paper makes it easy to be green and stylish, and they've got a product offering to take you from save the date cards all the way to your thank you notes.
Environmentally Friendly Wedding Dresses
If you can't pull out a classic from your mother's closet, check out Gaia House. This is one area where Earth Mother is not going to work (unless that's the look for which you're going, and if so, we totally support you).
Ethical Shoes
Beyond Skin will handmake any of their shoes to match your dress. Before you order online, check out their shoes at Junky Styling (Old Truman Brewery, E1) or Equa Boutique (Camden, N1 - which should also receive special mention as the source of a friend's bridesmaid dresses).
Biodegradable Petal Confetti
The days of birdseed are over, and bubbles can get sticky (although we do like pretending we're kids again). If you must depart under a shower of something, make it pedals from The Real Flower Confetti Company.
Responsible Wedding Gift Lists
The gift list front is a bit trickier, and the fact is, you need what you need (OK, and want). We like Wrap It, although you wait for your items to be delivered until after your list is closed. But less delivery means less environmental wear & tear, so surely that makes them a little green too, right?
Good luck!

Madame A and Madame B live in penthouses down the hall from each other not far from The Square Mile. One works for an American bank, one is
just an American. Both require their identities to be secret for a
variety of reasons, but mostly because they'd like to stay out of hot
water with their partners and bank managers.
