Last time we discussed thank you notes, I came on a little strong. As such, I'd like to make it up to you by passing on a Proper Tip; one that will make your future correspondence even easier and more stylish.
Gifts for Mr Properly are never far from my mind ('Do unto others' works quite well in our relationship), so after our near-row about thank you notes, I vowed to get him some. Masculine. Personalised. Ones he wouldn't be afraid to send, and might even enjoy sending. Or at least ones he wouldn't mind sending when nudged.
I cast my mind back to the best personalised Christmas card we'd received the holiday before. It was elegant, simple and strong. I called the sending friend to enquire, and she sent me to Red Stamp.
And what a find it was!
I ordered Mr Properly's cards along with 35 birthday/baby/wedding/retirement/congratulations cards to have on hand. And then I ordered birth announcements, and then I ordered some Christmas cards. Oh, and an embosser with our address in the coolest circular design. As the selection is almost exhaustive I could have found a few hundred more things to buy, but then Mr Properly's accusation that I sometimes overdo it would be accurate.
They all came in a fabulous, red box, shipped from the US - which is the main reason Red Stamp is such a find.
Admittedly the dollar has strengthened, making US shopping a little less desirable than earlier in the year, but let's face it: the exchange rate still delivers plenty of bang for your buck.
But perhaps the best reason for shopping at Red Stamp is that you're guaranteed to have different cards than everyone else.
Effortlessly stylish, affordable AND individual.
Not priceless, but close.
Love,
Mrs Properly

Mr and Mrs Properly will never come to your home empty-handed. They hold doors for young and old alike, always say please and thank you (especially to each other), and try not to be judgemental when they witness bad manners. Their bookshelves feature works by Debrett's, Knigge, Miss Manners and Emily Post, and when they're bored, they write this column for Here Is The City while making dinner. Both work in the City.
