In case you weren't aware, we love Daily Candy. At the moment even more so because they helped us unload that silly Moschino dress we Just Had to Have and the almost-never-worn Prada boots that were Such a Bargain. How? Read on.
Firstly - ages ago - we signed up to their newsletter. Then we caught up on our emails and found the gem in question - a list of designer dress agencies. We didn't even know we needed this!
And so we share with you that which has given us spending money for the next crunchy month.
Sign of the Times (Chelsea)
DC says: Run by the effervescent Lorraine Fraser, this place is top of the crop. Sell secondhand designer clothes and receive a cheque once they sell. If they’re unsold after two months, reclaim or donate to charity.
Pandora (Knightsbridge)
DC says: Leave good-as-new clothes and accessories and collect cash or a cheque once they’re sold.
Retro Woman (Holland Park)
DC says: Exchange vintage, designer or high street gear for store credit (half of value) or cash (a third of value) on the spot.
Designs on Her (Hampstead)
DC says: Hand over a minimum of three items for 50 per cent of their retail price; money available from the last Monday of the month.
The Loft (Covent Garden)
DC says: Sell new or secondhand designer labels at this stylist’s hangout and receive half of the selling price.
Bang Bang Clothing Exchange (Goodge Street)
DC says: Get a third of the cash value back immediately for designer, vintage and high street clothes or half the selling price to spend in-store when you like.
Often, when Daily Candy says something, we listen. And sometimes, it totally pays off.
