Yep, is another man's treasure. So what do you do with your old stuff in this world where sustainability matters? These days there's more than just the charity shop.
While the charity shop is still one of the best (and easiest) places to take old clothes, getting rid of larger items has always been tricky. Do you put an old chair on the street and hope someone takes it? Try to find a buyer for your dining room table in your building?

Freecycle is made up of local groups, and once you subscribe, you can email the group something you're looking for, or something you'd like to get rid of.

The best way to use freecycle is to subscribe when you have a particular thing to unload, then unsubscribe once it's been taken (since you'll get 10-20 emails every day). On offer are most things under the sun - a desk, computer cables, CD tower, a cordless phone, a stereo. So it's the perfect place to offer up your old TV, the dishes you're replacing, an old printer, or that collection of Stephen King novels.

And best of all, the person taking it has to come collect it.

These are the success stories HITC has heard first-hand:

- One friend unloaded four dining room chairs to one person, and garden furniture and two horrible paintings to another person
- Another friend got an almost brand-new dishwasher
- An acquaintance finds different takers every week for her bamboo plants that grow like crazy

It's kind of like charity, environmental awareness and convenience all in one.

A pretty good combo if you ask us!
